Our analytics services team is looking for a BI Developer to help expand our Looker implementation. We launched our instances ~1 year ago, and will be duplicating our reporting structure that exists in our mature, 10 year OBIEE implementation, as well as creating custom new Explores/reporting structure.

Job Description:

Summary:

The Developer will support all aspects of our team’s BI applications. This includes projects in Looker and OBIEE 12c, such as management and support of objects of the UI, the data model, git repository, and general application administration.  There will be emphasis on providing expert support in building, streamlining, and testing reports, dashboards, and other BI components for various business lines and use cases across the organization. The Developer will also assist in training and educational support for internal analytic teams regarding Looker. The Developer will be involved in and collaborate on research and development to improve and enhance current functionalities and performance of the applications.

Key Requirements

Technical /Functional Expertise

  • Creation, modification, and troubleshooting of simple to complex analyses and dashboards in Looker and OBIEE 12c
  • Objects in OBIEE 12c and Looker
  • Familiarity in data modelling concepts and best practices
  • Be able to comprehend and execute on technical tasks, perform hands-on data model design, and BI server configuration as directed by team lead or team members
  • Experience in SQL
  • Familiarity with relational and big data database concepts and technologies
  • Software/Development Lifecycle and Agile Development background or exposure

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with LookML
  • Expertise or knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl and others
  • Expertise or knowledge of Javascript visualization libraries (ES6, D3)
  • Statistics, data science, or big data background or course work
  • XML/CSS, web design skills
  • Various other BI tool exposure
  • Expertise in data storytelling and query/dashboard design
