YOUR ROLE

We need someone like you to lead efforts in maintaining and transforming enterprise data into actionable information. This entrepreneurial position requires a passion for working with high-volume data sets while having the technical ability to manipulate and extract data from multiple sources. We are a highly data-driven organization and this is a cross functional role that touches all parts of the business including finance, user acquisition, messaging, performance, and content optimization. Needless to say, you love to drive growth by creating insights from structured and unstructured data! You will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Analytics.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

• Looker Development & Administration:
  • Maintaining and enhancing scalable data models, reporting, and dashboards
  • Becoming an SME on our library of Looker Explores
  • Understand how business initiatives could impact and change current state reporting
  • Bringing visibility and control to all teams by developing and executing database queries, conducting analyses, creating visualizations, and reports
  • Build and standardize actionable dashboards and reporting
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize data model, data architecture, BI, and data governance with a growing team
  • Ability to design and build out reporting that provides actionable feedback
• Data Analysis & QA:
  • Performing ad hoc queries and data analysis requests on an as-needed basis. i.e. help with one-time data pulls, data cleansing, and QA
  • Documenting structure and processes, never assuming certain intricacies aren't important
  • Understand the data pipelines and nuances between different business strategies
  • Analyze and create processes to monitor data pipelines and ensure data accuracy
• Communication & Requirement Gathering:
  • Put an emphasis on ensuring you have a strong understanding of requirements when building out reporting and modeling data
  • Ability to work and proactively communicate across all parts of the organization
• ETL & Data Pipelines:
  • Work with AWS services including Athena, s3, and Glue
  • Experience with Python to make basic edits to our ETL processes
  • Understanding and working with API documentation to further understand capabilities and opportunities with partner data

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Advanced SQL
• Ability to solve complex problems through unstructured data
• Focus on data validation and accuracy
• Looker LookML, explore, and dashboard development
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills to manage highly complex information.
• Ability to QA data by reverse engineering data structures
• Has a focus on ways to optimize query and dashboard performance
• Proficiency in data modeling concepts
• Ingesting and working with a variety of data sources.
• Willingness to adapt to a fast paced work environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross functionally
• Ideal: understanding and expertise in digital marketing, advertising, or affiliate marketing
