The Role & The Team

The Reporting Solutions team is part of a vision to build a centralised Hub responsible for setting the standards for BI across Farfetch. You will actively work with diverse stakeholders like Marketing, Product and Commercial in order to define and implement best-practice reporting that will allow Farfetch to continue growing rapidly.

This is a new team with scope to assess the use of all reporting tools across the business. You will define and lead a strategy to ensure we have the capabilities to develop reporting products that best serve business objectives, whilst maintaining optimal performance of our reporting tools.

You will be working with data teams that support business units across the organisation, as well as those focused on centres of excellence of other data platforms and tools.

You will be a person that thrives in solving complex problems in a fast paced environment balancing tactical needs whilst driving strategically for a long term solution.

What you’ll do:

• Define, lead and execute a strategy for Reporting Solutions across the Farfetch Group
• Assess all reporting tools and business needs and leverage your expertise in reporting tools to support the definition of this strategy
• Ensure strict governance of reporting tools by developing and monitoring performance of reporting built across the business
• Lead analysis and actions with data teams to ensure high performing set-up of reporting tools
• Have an architectural view across tools and create and evolve best practices, training, policies, processes and documentation to ensure solutions built by data teams are robust and built for scale
• Have admin ownership of reporting tools including contract needs and renewal, management of internal and external instances, user groups and license types, implementation of data segregation rules and proactively managing the relationship with our vendors
• Drive business adoption of Reporting tools through initiatives such as improving the performance of the reporting tool and leveraging full capabilities of the tool
• Lead, grow, and develop a high performing team
• Train existing users and onboard new ones at all data literacy levels
• Proactively identify gaps and turn them into implementable solutions
• Drive agile ways of working to ensure continuous progress and iteration
• Lead on innovation and nextgen thinking for BI in Farfetch and the industry

Who you are:

• A BSc in computer science, engineering, information systems or other highly quantitative field
• Experience rolling out and managing BI tools
• Advanced in SQL
• Experience developing and managing the rollout of Enterprise data models using a Kimball methodology
• Familiar with data governance practices and adept at designing policies and processes for how data teams interact with each other
• Experienced with Engineering best practices for code review and deployment
• Experience leading a team with agile principles
• Commercially minded with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
• Product oriented mindset with a key focus on best practices and scalability
• Detail-oriented with a demonstrably high standard for data accuracy and documentation
• Expert in manipulating large data sets in a professional environment
• Strong communicator regardless of format (email, documentation, presentation, discussion)
• Able to collaborate with both commercial and technical stakeholders (technical product managers, development leads)

Based in London

Our London office is located in Old Street, London’s tech hub, home to a broad range of teams including Commercial, Marketing, and Product. We have large open plan spaces and a feature staircase connecting our 3 floors, encouraging our collaborative and open culture. We also have a big outdoor terrace where we can have lunch and host social events when the sun comes out!
