Masked fields not showing in excel web query file

We have a number fields that are masked using access_grants and a user variable at the model level.  The fields are available when creating a look and when downloading said look to excel.  However, when attempting to use the public access link for the excel web query file, the masked fields are not appearing.

I wanted to ask if anyone has run into this issue before and if there is either a solution or work-around.

Public access is public. So the data is pulled but not from anyones account (unauthenticated) and therefore they have no user attributes and so the access grant is not satisfied.
