Why is the PDT Event Log - Action Data column null?

If pdt_event_log.action is like 'trigger%', 'regenerate%', 'reap%', that row is deleted after 5 days. But if the pdt_event_log.action_data contains any data at all after 5 days, action_data is overwritten with NULL for that row.
