What does "using old version" mean in the PDT panel?

This is the case where looker is using a previous version of a table as a standin until the new version has built.

The PDT says: "My SQL is unchanged and as such my structure is unchanged and compatible with whatever fields are declared, but the sql of some table I depend has changed, so my contents have changed, and I will be rebuilt by the regenerator."
