If you happen to come across consecutive trigger datagroup check's equal to true for a given table in the pdt event logs and you have confirmed that the cron job shouldn't be causing this, this is likely because we fire off multiple trigger checks before the regenerator builds a PDT.

The first trigger check is sent when the regenerator starts its run, the second when it gets around to actually building the table. Note that there will always be a trigger check of true before the regenerator begins building a pdt and as such the last true trigger check should indicate/match up with the time in which the create begin event is logged for the given PDT.
