My model is up to date with production, why do I get "Could not load model " when not in dev mode?

That's likely because the model is not configured in the LookML Projects Page.

Tip: Check the Manager LookML Project model configuration settings. The LookML model may not be allowed access to a certain DB connection.

Another possibility is that local prod is not synced with remote, so the project may say "Up to date with production" in dev mode because it's up to date with remote prod but those changes still don't show up in local prod (this can happen particularly with new projects). If this happens, we can follow the instructions from this Help Center article on hitting the deploy webhook to get local prod synced up with remote prod.
