How does one resolve an issue with setting up the shared filesystem where the uid and gid are different on the share than they are on the looker server?

The UID and GUID need to match.

As root, you can edit /etc/passwd and /etc/group on one host to make it match the other, then do a chown -R looker:looker /path/to/shared/whatever
