This error has surfaced a few times, and it's typically caused when we have too many filters as well as having a large row limit. Most of the time, this error is caused by the browser hitting a limit on the information to display; either reducing the filter count or lowering the row limit should allow the query on the Explore/Dashboard to run successfully!
