Best practices to avoid performance issues in data visualizations

Hello Team, We have issues in performance in data visualization. We have more than 10 years of data, 600 TB data, and at the moment of visualization the system in taking a long time.

What should I do to avoid performance issues?

What should I do before uploading the data ?

Is the problem on the visualization side or the querying side?

It could be that the query is slow. Instead of having more than 10 years of data on that source table; ask yourself these questions…

Does the usual explorer of this data going to need ten years worth of it?

If not, maybe it’s time to make a smaller version of that table. You can make a table on your warehouse only for only a few years or whatever you think is most useful. My team has two versions of the table; one historical and one current. Where one table is the last 2 years and another all-time. The all-time one rarely gets used; but it’s there in case someone REALLY needs to use it. Mostly used for reports that gets seen a few times a year.
