I am trying to use the update_look command in order to update the filter of a saved look with a new list of IDs. Is there an example of what the correct way to enter my filter name and content into the update_look request? I have been referring to this page but I could use a little help on what to put in the “filter” spot in the JSON in order to make the filter update how I want.
I have a query (SELECT * FROM application_geo_rev_shares WHERE application_id in (‘59c4e84718776d7228003349’)) I am trying to run that with more app IDs, but I cannot get it to work on the try it out site. I want to use run_sql_query(), but plugging the above in as the slug does not return any results, just an error. I have a different log in for SQL queries, a different client and secret ID. I know the ID works, but I get a not found error. Do you have any examples or ideas on how I can correctly build this slug?
I have been trying to copy and use code snippets from the Try It Out page such as get_look(), but when I try it I get an ‘Unauthorized’ error pretty much every time. In a cell above the one pictured I connect to the API using my Client ID and Client Secret, which appears to work. How should I go about making sure that my requests are authorized? Authorizing in the one place does not seem to authorize my requests elsewhere.
I am trying to make this code work in my python script (https://github.com/llooker/python_api_samples/blob/master/update_filters_and_run_query.py). I have correctly built a yaml config file with the host, secret, and token. However, in the line looker = LookApi(host=my_host, token=my_token, secret=my_secret) I keep getting the error TypeError:init() got an unexpected keyword argument ‘host’ I have included a screenshot, above the screenshot is the line from lookerapi import LookApi because putting LookerApi did not work. Host, secret, and token, all have the correct strings in them. I cannot find further documentation on the LookApi function. Please advise.
