Update git production branch to be "main" not "master"

Hi,

I’m currently running 7.20.48 self hosted.

I can’t figure out for the life of me how to change the “Production Branch” to be “main” not “master”.

Is this hard coded somewhere in looker if am i being blind 😞

Have a look into “advanced deploy”, you can’t necessarily change the prod branch but can decide what and where it comes from.

Thanks Ian.

I’m already using “advanced deploy”. However sadly it only picks the git commits from “master” to deploy.

It's not the end of the world just we migrated all our other repos to main and looker seems to be the only one we can’t do it with 😞

Hi jonnysparkplugs,

It looks like it is possible to change the the branch in the project settings, under ‘Git Production Branch Name’, when updated to Looker 21.0 or newer.

Looker 7.20: https://docs.looker.com/data-modeling/getting-started/git-options?version=7.20#git_production_branch...

Looker 21.0: https://docs.looker.com/data-modeling/getting-started/git-options?version=21.0#git_production_branch...

Hope this helps,

Naomi

Oh that's great news. We are self hosting (downloads always appear later) so once available for download we can upgrade.

Thanks Naomi ?
