Question

Modeling Conversion Rate

Hi - New to Looker here and seeking help with modeling fact over fact math for a conversion rate.

I have a table for clicks and a table for orders. I need to calculate the conversion rate = orders per day/clicks per day. The only commonality between clicks and orders is date. Clicks is calculated count of id, & orders is calculated count of id.

I understand I can create a derived view to accomplish this by writing the query itself. Are there any other alternatives or ideas? Can I theoretically create a derived view with view extensions?

Thanks!

Hi Steph,

Here is a great article on how to model different transactions based on date.

Also, in Looker 5.0 there is a way to do this by combining the output of two explores via data merge.
