In what situations are you using Symmetric Aggregates?

I’ve read Lloyd’s Post on symmetric aggregates a bunch of times, but I’m still not sure if/how I’d use the feature. I’m still avoiding one-to-many joins in my modeling - using them feels like playing with fire.

So I’m curious: are you using symmetric aggregates? If so, in what situation? Are there situations in which Symmetric Aggregates would be considered a best practice?
