Duplicating Tables for Comparative Analysis

Hello! My goal is to develop a benchmark analysis, a time-series comparison of a single customer’s measures to a whole segment of customers. I have accomplished this by defining the table with LookML twice so that I can add an additional series to the Y axis. However, I am not sure that this is the best way to accomplish this. Are there other methods perhaps using Derived Tables or Custom Fields that would allow me to essentially duplicate measures and apply different filters to each copy of that measure?
