Derived Table vs Table Calculation

Is it advisable to use the table calculation instead of Derived table as best practice in looker especially when we have to use window function in sql calculation. FOr eg, If I have to calculate running countif of the Date in Prod_count column, then we should use derived table for this or use the looker table calculations
