Can you change what Looker reads as the current date?

I’m working with date filters where I need to be able to create a period selected filter where users will be able to select a month and year to look at. Then I need to create a filter that has a relative time component based on the month selected. For example, if I want to look from the point of view of May 2022, then I will be able to view MTD, QTD, and YTD from a May 2022 perspective. However I am only able to get this relative time component to work for the current date (September 2022). Is there a way I can change how Looker views what the current date is or an alternative method of implementing this functionality?
