Ask Looker - configuration

Hi Looker,

We have added Ask Looker (from marketplace) to our Looker instance and the first step for configuration is to select a “topic” from the Topic drop-down menu.

Are you able to help me in understanding:

  1. What it means by this phrase
  2. How to set up a topic in Looker/Lookml model

Thanks

Samir

Hi Samir!

Since it is a looker extension in “Beta” status, perhaps you are getting an internal error message that prevents a correct functionality.

Could you  activate “Browse Developer tools” and try the following test ?

 ( In chrome browser:

To open the developer console in Google Chrome, open the Chrome Menu in the upper-right-hand corner of the browser window and select More Tools > Developer Tools.

You can also use Option + ⌘ + J (on macOS), or Shift + CTRL + J (on Windows/Linux).)

Selection : “Console”

and then open the application “Ask looker” to validate if it is working fine

https://marketplace.looker.com/marketplace/detail/ask_looker

For instance:

If possible please share with us a screenshot of the error messages  if you are getting any error messages.

Best regards,

Leo

Hi Sami!

Whoops, there are several error messages related to Security Policy.

CORS Definition:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/CORS

CSP  Definition:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/CSP

Due to these error messages on js console section (red messages) the looker extension cannot be loaded, that is the reason you are unable to use it.

Please notice that this error message (CSP policy)  is generated by the server, not your browser .

Best regards,

Leo
