How to Combine Two Tables With No Shared Dimensions?

Hi all,

Hopefully the infographic I made should explain what I want to do at-a-glance.

But to explain, I have multiple data sources in Looker for marketing data that I want to combine. I’m stumped because there are no shared dimensions, and I need to combine the tables by metrics rather than dimenions.

One source is Google Ads, which has multiple campaigns with different names. Here we track mentions called “clicks” and “impressions,” plus others.

Another source sis called Facebook Ads, which also has multiple campaigns called “clicks” and “impressions,” among others, as well.

I would like like to combine these in one table. In Excel, this would be done with a simple copy-paste. I’m unsure how to do it in Looker.

Can anyone help?

My initial thought would be to create a derived table that uses a `UNION ALL` operation to combine the tables that way!

Hey Fabio, thanks for the help buddy. I appreciate it.

@fabio1  what is the derived table? is it a table on the big query?
