Your database behind Looker - Why are you using it? Would you want to use something else?

I’m genuinely curious what databases are being used. Your experiences with them, good and bad. 

Would you use something else if you could? Why?

For context, we’re almost exclusively using Snowflake. I suppose the honeymoon period has worn off and I’m seeking thoughts on what else works in practice. Not what the platform marketing or new business person says...

Hi Chris!

I think it depends a lot (or totally) of the IT infrastructure of the organization.

Personal comment:

For instance, if the organization uses “ORACLE E-Business Suite” for HR and other modules, they will use oracle database forever ? 

The scenario changes when a startup grows, they will have a chance to evaluate the Quality/cost of the current technologies appearing on Gartner quadrants and/or IT colleagues.

Some other people love mongoDB…
