Session Duration (unintended behavior)

Set the Session Duration as 61min, with Persistent Sessions disabled.

The user interface displays the text correctly - the time indicated (61 min)- , however, the first pop-up comes after 61 minutes asking to stay logged in for 30 more minutes. Subsequent popups appear every 30 mins with the same text.

Intended behavior: Pop up should ask instead to stay logged in for another Session Duration interval? in this case, another 61min?

We also have noticed this one, and have it filed + prioritized appropriately, but it hasn’t been accepted for work yet. It’s not been marked as particularly high priority, since a “workaround exists” (in this case, clicking the stay logged in button).

We’ll update this thread when there’s work done on the bug!

Hey @David_P1 ! I just addressed this question in further detail here:

This is definitely a confusing topic but we were able to confirm with our teammates that this is actually intended behavior. Once the first Session has been met, the Looker user will need to start log out before the session fully restarts. If they do not log out, they will just continue to get the 30 minute automatic log out popups.
