Question

Scheduled emails not getting through to distribution lists?

I have some emails that are supposed to be sent to execteam@mycompany.com, but none of the users are receiving the emails. When I add each user separately there is no issue.

Anything I can do to resolve this? Is there a limitation in sending emails to a distribution list vs. an individual?

This is almost certainly because your email service is permissioned such that external email addresses cannot send email to internal lists. This is a common setting, and it depends on the service whether that is configurable.

Another possible cause we sometimes see would be if one of the people on this list hit Unsubscribe. If a single person in an email group unsubscribes, the Look will stop for everyone.

Hey Andy,

Problem that we had to go through as well.

Have you tried to use custom mail settings?

Hey guys - Thanks for all the replies, the group alias was blocking external emails (e.g. from @looker.com) but we were able to configure this on our side via our IT department.

hello guys,

is this possible to use Google Email distribution group to manage Looker Access?

As an example,

 - In google mail, we would create an email distribution group called testgroup@abc.com and add users testuser1@abc.com, testusers2@abc.com.

 - In looker, we would add testgroup@abc.com as new user with Group: Admin and Role: Admin

 - If testuser1 and testuser2 login to Looker, will they have full admin access?

thank you in advance.

@anika can anyone please confirm on above mentioned doubt?
