It seems that age related restrictions only permit enrollment of phones for 2FA (no backup codes, no authenticator applications). I don't understand why this is, especially since most schools are being pressured to enable 2FA for everyone (by their insurance companies, if security isn't enough of a reason), AND typically do not permit the use of phones in the classroom.
