Table with subtotals doesn't meet users needs

Hi there,

We’ve just adquired looker as our new BI corporate tool. We’re already created some models and dashboards, and everything seems to cover user needs except for the most wanted visualisation, the pivot table.

In the company some users have been working with PowerBI and they’re missing the matrix visual with drill down, which is the most used visual.

When we want to recreate this Matrix viz from PowerBI to Looker using the Table with subtotals, containing for example 4 dimensions and 2 metrics, as we expand every dimension it creates a blank line instead of grouping it in one single column. Moreover, it is never much clear wich metric value refers to each dimension level.

PowerBI is showing a more compacted layout, added with that in Looker we see the format of the subtotals amount the same of the less granular amount, it is not clear in what line you’re. For example in PowerBI the subtotals are in bold.

Is there any way in Looker we can achieve this? Anyone has experiencied the same? The point is to have the possibility to drill down into several columns yet being able to analise the metrics properly.

Thank you!
