Drill down doesn't apply dashboard filter correctly

I have a dashboard with a filter on Month. In addition to looking at events from the last M months, users can also filter on a specific date range (say 3/11 - 3/16). When this kind of filter is applied the charts show accurate results but drill downs don't filter to the specified range (3/11 - 3/16) and instead show the entire month. 

Is there a way to get the correct filter to apply in the drill down?

Can you share a little bit more about what dimensions you are using inside of the visualization and the drill down in order give you a better answer/solution?
