I want to define quarters and semesters using date ranges. so that my users can filter the data using those named ranges (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, S1, S2, and Fully Year). I find I can easily define my data by quarters using date ranges with either and if function or case when.
However, I also need the option to select semester 1 data, which is all of quarter one and quarter two combined. Later in the year, I will need to filter data by Quarter 3, Quarter 4, Semester 2, and Full Year.
I could keep my original data source much smaller if Looker Studio could accomplish this. Any ideas?
