Gazer vs looker deployer

We are currently using gazer to deploy lookml dashboards to different instances and saw the notice in gazer that new users should be using looker deployer instead.

I want to understand what additional features/benefits does looker deployer have?  (I see looker deployer is also depended on gazer).

I want to be able to understand if we are using gazer now, should we be planning to move to looker deployer?

thanks!

Looker Deployer is built on top of gazer to do more orchestration of common jobs. Gazer is more fine grained.

@alu2 The previous statement has been retracted. It appears that Gazer will continue to be supported. ‌😀

As the originator and author of Gazer, thanks for your support.

does Looker deployer deploys  user-defined dashboards as well?

Thank you

Yes. Under the hood it actually uses Gazer to do that. We are working on rationalizing looker deployer and gazer so that they fit together more cleanly.

Hi Dr_Strangelove, I am currently using the Lookerdeployer with gazer installed to migrate projects/contents between two looker instances lookerdev to lookerprod. I followed this guidelines (URL Removed by Staff)

I can do the export data from dev but with lookerprod I got the error Looker Not Found (404) - Looker Unavailable. Could you please help advise a bit. Thank you
