How to set PDT table with correct Collation

Hi
We have recently met an error saying 
(Illegal mix of collations (utf8mb4_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8mb4_0900_ai_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation '=') when joining a PDT with other tables in our sql DB. 
Can anyone please let us know is there a way we can switch the collation of the temp schema from looker create/save PDTs process or via Looker connection settings?
