Deprecation Notice: Drill Behavior (3.42+)
The ability to use the legacy drill behavior is removed starting in Looker 4.22. Looker allows users to “drill” into certain cells of a data table, to see more information about the elements that comprise that cell. As of Looker 3.42, Looker shows the results of a drill in a pop-up window instead of bringing users to the Explore page. This way users don’t lose context, and can quickly go back to their original work if desired. However, if they do want to explore the drill data, they can easily click on a button to do so. Old Behavior Drills go directly to the Explore page. New Behavior Drills go to a pop-up first, and then users can choose to explore the data if they like.
Line Chart Visualisation + Next-gen Dashboards - Limit of data points?
I have a simple query where I removed the 500 row limit:In the screenshot above you can see 1972 data points. Then I add it to a New Dashboard and: As you can see, the amount of data points and x-axis decreased to only 1000. No way to change this limit.. Huuuuge bug!
Limiting the number of occurences in a dimension?
I have a dimension column for each month in the year (2022-01, etc.) and two other other columns, one being a dimension of the product name and the other is a measure of the sales. Is there a way to limit the number of month occurrences to just 10? So basically having the top 10 products for each month in a single table.

Dashboard similar to what I have in Grafana (test error tracking)
Hey all! I’m trying to create a dashboard that mirrors some of what we have in Grafana. One particular chart shows all of our test results, with the y axis being the test title, and the x being date. A red bar appears for every failure, green for pass, etc. Is there any way to mirror something like this in Looker? I can get relatively close with the “timeline” chart type, but it’s not very customizable and can only show a very short date range. The chart in grafana looks like the below.
Showing applied chart filters?
Is it possible to show the filters that are applied to a chart on a LookML dashboard? This used to be the default behavior up until a previous release, and now it is difficult to tell exactly what filters apply to which charts. Perhaps this could be achieved with a tooltip? [As an aside, the ‘ran 3h ago’ hover info can overlap dashboard notes that are in tooltip format making them unreadable. This may not be the best solution] This related documentation seems out of date.
Very basic Question
Hi everyone,Brand new here, so forgive me if I do this wrong. Just point me in the right direction. My software vendor, EnterpriseRx, is using Looker for their new reporting platform and I need to learn how to use it to build custom reports. I don’t get how to create a report that will provide me with the grand total of prescriptions filled on a given day. I can create the report to list all the individual prescriptions. But don’t know how to make it sum them up and then provide the grand total as the visualization. Any thoughts?
Table - Cell Formatting resets after columns are added/removed - is it a bug?
Hi everyone! As in the title - whenever I add a column or hide one from visualization all columns reset to their default Width, Format and Cell Visualization (usually turned off). Is it expected behavior or rather a bug? Best regards,Mateusz
How to make sure only current date has a certain color on graph
Hi, I currently am making a line graph comparing a measure by hours over the last 7 days. I want only the line for the current date to be a certain color, and any of the lines for the previous days to remain gray. However, if I refresh it, it keeps the previous day as the color and creates a new color for the current day. Any way to fix this?
We have two time filters one for event time and one for user start time. Is it possible to have user update one of the time filters and the other time filter is set to the same time range?
We have two time filters one for event time and one for user start time. Is it possible to have user update one of the time filters and the other time filter is set to the same time range? i.e. user updates the event time range in the filters section of the dashboard and this will then update the user start time filter as well, so they dont have to input the same time range in both of the time filters?
