is there a way to tell which explore upon which a tile is based

Hi:I built a bunch of tiles that I thought needed to do cross-filtering on.To do this, all the tiles have to be built from the same explore.As such, I built some of the tiles off of “indirect explores”. (for example, if I have customer and orders, I built an orders-based tile off of the customer explore that has a join to orders, instead of just building it off the orders explore).I have discovered that this adds a join to customer on the produced sql, which I don’t want for performance, plus I don’t really need to do cross-filtering in this instance.Is there anyway to overtly tell what explore a tile is built on? Can I change the explore the tile is built on?Thanks,Mary

Slack Alert Channel ID instead of Name is shown

As an admin, when looking at a Slack channel that a colleague set I see the channel ID of the slack channel selected for the alert, and not the channel name. This is quite impractical. I would love to see the channel name instead.

Creating Custom Map (from .kml format)

Hi, I am trying to create custom map with boundaries (from .kml format) I have converted it from .KML to GEOJSON and GEOJSON to TOPOJSON but there is no use. Boundaries are not showing properly. could you guys help on this. Thanks! Regards,SVT

Custom measure, does not contain "X" except before a cutoff number "X"

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me with this question. I want to create two custom measures and/or table calculations to create two new columns in a dashboard. Old car belt New car beltIn custom fields I want to create two new columns, that will have a count of cars with the old belt and new belt. In order to do that, I first created two custom measures. The old car belt equation or field I want defined as “Does not contain XX23 except for those before the serial number XX23556” The new car belt equation or field I want defined as “DOES contain XX23 except for those before the serial number XX23556” I know I could create a custom measure. And under field to measure, the serial number with measure type as count, name would be “Old car belt.” Custom filter would be …NOT contains (${cardata_cases.serialnumber}, “XX23”) HOWEVER I do not know how to calculate the addition parameter of “except for those before the serial number XX23556. Ultimately I would like to show a stacked bar chart

How do I sort the y axis in visualuzation?

The Y axis doesn’t seem to be sortedHi,I’m new to looker. This is a pivoted data and somehow I do not understand why the y axis is not sorted.How can I sort the Y axis and increase the spacing between the grid?This seems to be crammed up.Also, in y-axis the top numbers 44 and 46 are not in the data. I don’t know how they are auto-generated. Thank you for the help.

How to exclude null values in running totals table calculation

Hi, I want to create a graph with cummulative values (running calculations):running_total(${X.amount})The problem is that if my date filter is one complete year and some months:2019/01/01 - 2020/08/08, the running calculation is working properly for the 2019 but for 2020 is showing values for every month not just up to August. So is summing null to the previous month for the last months giving the value of august from august to december(horizontal line in the graph).I would like to see the complete area for 2019 but a line from january to August in 2020 Any help/ideas?

Can Filter values be used as tokens for Dashboard labels/text output?

I am looking to essentially take the value that is selected for a particular filter on a dashboard and dynamically display it in a text box that also exists on the dashboard. Is this something that is possible?

Using selected columns of a Pivot in Table Calculations

I have a query result with a Pivot in it. The data looks as shown below: Pivoted Data I have Type_A to Type_F as my pivoted columns, I want to add up the columns Type_C and Type_D using one table calculation and add up the rest of the columns of the pivot in another table calculation. Is this possible? I tried to do this using pivot_index, but new types keep getting added to the data so I can’t reliable use pivot_index. Is there a way I can use the name of the Pivot column in a table calculation?

Can I offer Looks to users to combine them in own dashboards?

I would like to build some kind of a “Looks Pool”. There I could define some Looks, ideally also versioned with git, and offer them to my business users. Then they can combine them in own dashboards. But they should not just copy the Looks, I would like to maintain them. So if I do a change in a Look from the pool, it should also be updated in every dashboard it is used. Is something like this possible or planned?

Nesting rows in merged query visuals

I am currently using merged queries to calculate % change of media spend between two time periods. I use 2 dimensions, channel and platform, to see spend at a more granular level. The primary merged query shows data from the past 7 days, while the comparison period shows data from the last 14 days. Using this information I made % change calculated fields for spend. I want the spend and other metrics to be able to roll up into channel and platform like normal visuals do when the sub-totals option is checked. With my current merged query, the sub-totals option is no longer available. Is there a way to nest the rows based on the different dimensions for merged queries?

Dashboard Download feature

I have 3 visualization on a dashboard, all using the same custom visualization. One of the tables suddenly stopped appearing when downloaded as pdf (simply shows just the title and blank space where the table should be) although it shows up on the dashboard itself. The other two visualizations show up fine. Please provide advice on how this can be resolved.

Custom Filter on Dashboard - AND function

Hello,I built out a dashboard containing data on television shows. Some dimensions are genre lists, rating lists, etc. When i apply a global filter on the dashboard for multiple genres all i get is the OR function (Comedy OR Animation). I was looking for a way to do a custom contains filter for Comedy AND Animation. Thanks!

Is it possible to Transpose multiple dimensions in a table view?

Hi Lookers,I am working on a requirement to create a transaction search report.The report will need to use a drill to functionality; where the user can search for a particular transaction and be able to view the receipt details upon clicking/selecting a particular ‘Receipt No’(dimension)The data source is a single table created using BigQuery.Report 1: Click the receipt No and be able to view Report 2( Receipt Details)Report 1: where the user searchs for different Receipt NosReport 2:Above is Report 2: Rendered as a result of selecting a receipt no from Report 1. )But, the layout of the report needs to be transposed. (As portrayed below)However, the requirement is to have a transposed view of the receipt details(report 2 above)Example from Tableau:Report 1:Report 1: where a transaction is searched and a particular receipt no is selected.Report 2:This is the Receipt Details report, rendered upon selecting a Receipt No from Report 1. Error in display the age range value in dimensions in the model

Hi all When I want to show the age bracket in the dimension, it returns with a zero to slash for each age group. However, when I tried to set it as filter, it seems that the value can be read in this case. Does anyone knows what happen here?Thanks for the help in advance.

Ability to directly edit filters affecting a tile is gone when using NEXT

We recently upgraded to using Dashboard NEXT and noticed that the ability to click on a tile to edit the list of filters that affect it no longer exists. This creates a pretty significant bit of extra work when adding new tiles to an existing dashboard. Are there plans to add this functionality back in?

How can I set a dimension equal to a custom output?

I have a dimension, let’s call it “Merchant Identifiers” and there are thousands. I’d like to be able to set a filter on a dashboard where people who use my dashboard have the option to select from 1 of 2 filters, or both. Those filters are in an alphanumeric format. Example (3dt51-so540-etc.etc.) I’d like to do something like. When merchant identifier is equal to Identifier A or Identifier B, make them display as “Option 1” and “Option 2” instead of the long-form identification number. Is this possible? Identification number is a dimension and I’d like to then export this look to a dashboard where I can use the augmented naming conventions as the filters. So when people filter they will see “Option 1” and “Option 2” instead of an alphanumeric identifier for both options. Thanks for any help in advance.

[Bug] Marketplace visualizations do not load correctly on first try

My team has been using marketplace visualizations for a while, with few problems. In the last week or so, we noticed detrimental and persistent errors in loading/rendering of these visualizations. These first four screenshots are how the visualizations look when a user first opens the dashboard. We have to refresh the page once or twice to get them to load correctly, in which case they look like This new bug is not acceptable for our customer-facing dashboards. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, have you discovered any workarounds (besides using non-marketplace visualizations)?
