Looker Actions - Sendgrid
Looker is launching a Sendgrid action, allowing customers to send data to an email through Sendgrid within Looker. This action will allow Looker customers send Looker data to an email through Sendgrid on a one-off or scheduled basis.
Enable the Sendgrid Action
Note: Your Looker instance must be on Looker 5.6 or higher.
To enable the action in Looker, go to your Admin panel and the Actions Tab under the Platform header [your-instance.looker.com/admin/actions]. (Admin > Platform > Actions)
Select “Enable” on the Sendgrid Action.
In your Sendgrid API page, create a workflow with a webhook connector [https://app.sendgrid.com/guide/integrate/langs/nodejs#settings/api_keys]. (Sendgrid -> Create Key -> Copy)
Copy your Sendgrid API key and paste into the Looker Actions Page.
Send data to Sendgrid Workflow
Great, now you’ve setup your Action so that Looker can communicate with the Sendgrid API!
Create and Send or Schedule a Report
In the Send or Schedule window’s Destination field, select “Sendgrid”.
In the To field, specify the recipient email address for the data.
Optionally, in the From, Filename, or Subject field, specify the From email address, the filename of the data attachment or the email subject.
Your data will be emailed through Sendgrid!
