How to stop look from getting automatically triggered

how to restrict looks from getting triggered automatically. Most of the times i would like to change the filter and then run it but my look triggers as soon as I am on the look.

That is not possible at the moment. I recommend hitting stop when you first navigate to the Look, change the filters, then run the Look. I’ll also loop in my Product team about this!

Another option would be to put the look into a dashboard and associate its filters with the look - a dashboard can be configured to not auto-run when it loads.

@viveksingh and abbywest we’re also looking for this as Google BigQuery charges us per query regardless of whether it’s cancelled (it can be dollars per query). We’ve had to save some looks to automatically break/fail if we know we’re going to be playing with the filters prior to running.


We’d love to have Run on Load on the explore-level or connection-level, but we’ll take what we can get!

You’ll be glad to know that in 4.8 we have a “Run on Load” setting for Looks!
