Definition of "dimension table calculation" and "measure table calculation"

Does anyone have a definition of “dimension table calculation” and “measure table calculation”? Or, given an existing table calculation, how do you tell if it’s a dimension table calculation or a measure table calculation?

The terms are used here, but as far as I can see never defined or even referenced anywhere else in the documentation or product UI.

I’d surmise that a dimension table calculation is a calculation based on a dimension and a measure table calculation is a calculation based on a measure. If you are not sure if a field is a dimension or a measure, I suggests the fields list of the explore is a good way to go.
