Hello Community! I am currently trying to compare launch periods of products and campaigns, however these are not launched within the same time frame each year. Instead, each campaign/product is launched at a different date, but I need to compare the first days, weeks, months, etc. after launch for each product with each other. As an example:Product A: launch in December 2020Product B: launch in May 2022 I need to compare those 2 launches, even with them having different launch dates, but need to measure and compare the first days, weeks, months, etc. after launch for each product with each other. How do I make sure that if we launch Product A in December 2020 and we relaunch a similar product of nature in May 2022 as Product B, that Looker will take the initial weeks and days of launch? Any help on what needs to be setup to make sure this is reflected would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Is it possible to specify the default delimiter in a CSV export, or are we restricted to using a comma? This is causing issues for us when sending files to clients in countries that use the comma as a decimal point as well as those who would prefer a pipe delimited file.
Hi,I have 2 numerical dimensions which I want to plot as x and y, and a categorical dimension as pivot and count as dot-size. I have converted one dimension to a table calculation to make them as X and Y and it works. I’m also able to use grid layout to make multiple smaller plots for each category. However when I try to make the same plot without any grid layout, I get an incompatible data error:“Unable to chart pivoted data when dimension has repeated values. This commonly happens when you create a query with a second dimension and hide that dimension from the chart.”What is the suggested solution here?I have seen this plot in looker documentation which is exactly what I need. What should be the data format to make such plot work?
I've changed my controls using the addon Console Port and the world of warcraft steam controller to the point where reverting back to Mouse and Keyboard would be a detriment to my game play. Has anyone else have luck with this gadget and an MMO? It has given WoW new life, and I find myself wanting to play it at work again, not because it's WoW, but because I can play it so easily with the steam controller.
Need to send a report to targeted people within the scheduled report email list WHERE the data has changed since the last scheduleFOR that specific person. SO using user attribute to filter through the list of emails, and if the report is different for that specific user, then send the report, If not don't send the report. Similar to an if else but for scheduled reports. Iterate through the list of recipients and send to the ones where the data has changed
I am trying to display a fixed value table calculation to an existing combination chart (column and line). I have created a fixed value table calculation (e.g. 0.005) and I get this error: “Unable to chart more than one dimension with one or more pivots.”The display variables are also table calculations so I thought adding a third table calculation would not be an issue.
Hi all,The main goal of my dashboard is to display how many accounts add an additional product by the end of a given year. For example, in 2021, let’s say there are 100 accounts that start the year with 1 product (and were still active at the end of the year), and by the end of the year, x accounts added 1 other product, or 2 products (and what are these products). Product 1: 10 districtsProduct 2: 5 districtsOther products etcI helped run salesforce reporting to put the data in google sheets and then created formulas with vlookups and countuniqueifs to see if by the end of the year, if that account has added any other products. I’m looking for advice on how to proceed with building this out in Looker. I played around with an existing explore but the thing that trips me up is how to define what is active by the end of a year and summing up the accounts, then making it dynamic so I could choose which year. Hope that makes sense and thank you in advance for the advice!
Hi everyone, I was creating a custom measure on Looker analytics. It was to be filtered based upon another custom dimension “Touchless”, which I had created:image919×421 21.1 KBAfter running it, the error message came up:“The Snowflake database encountered an error while running this query”.Believe the analytics have difficulty when I create a new custom field, that is filtered based on another custom field.Appreciate if anyone has a workaround around it.Thank you!
Hello, I’m trying to add a calculation to multiply values in 2 columns but the calculation is showing this error. I’m using the “Table Calculation” field under the “Custom Fields” section. I’m trying to add a 3rd column that multiples values in the “Bill Code Code” field and “Visit Unit Qty Sum” field. Is this possible?
Hello, The way we are currently using this integration, if an alert is made through Looker to push to Slack, Looker makes the alert as if the user is creating the message. As a result, the user does not get a notification that the system thinks the user made.Does anyone have any workarounds for this? Many thanks,
Hi Everyone, I would like to filter an existing dashboard for the previous date, and the filter should show the exact date. We send out a daily email report at the beginning of the day, and users would like to have the date for which the report is generated(Typically yesterday). Is this possible in looker? Thanks,-Ran
Change the Model of a dashboard from A model to B model (Dashboard lives in B model but looking at A Data model)
Thanks you all for helping here. Request I have: We have a dashboard that is created under GSS's data model. However this dashboard lives now under CA model (But still looks at GSS's data model).Problem:People who do not have access to the GSS model (As they do not need it) cannot use it. Get LookML of the dashboard: “model: GSS”Goal:Change the model that the dashboard is looking at from GSS model to CA model.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have tried/thought:Following this article from Looker help center, I have thought of:Use the Looker Content Validator to change the model. This one feels a bit risky to me. Applying this change there it feels that it will not only apply for the mentioned dashboard but maybe in other places. I am concerned that is going to change the model GSS to CA everywhere. So I did not press the button... Use Create LookML Copies of Dashb

I came across a great video series of Looker releases from Josh Neman and the folks at Brooklyn Data Co., and thought of sharing it with the community - worth the bookmark! Would be helpful to have short videos like this attached to the official release notes.https://brooklyndata.co/blog/looker-release-review-2114https://www.loom.com/share/f39d708895fe472db28b63abaeb68ee4
