Greetings,

I am new to looker and just trying to see if there is a way for me to create a custom parameter in the dashboard.

I am trying to create a parameter with multiple values like sport, team, game etc.

and when user selects a value from the parameter for example if user selects sport then ‘measure1’ will be displayed if they select team then ‘measure 2’ will be displayed. Not sure if this is possible in looker but I would really appreciate any help here.

Thank You

off the top of my head, the first thing i would consider would be to create a filter only dimension then reference said dimension dynamically in a single/unified measure…the reference in that measure would effectively be a case statement which would them sum/avg/whatever on diff columns based on the value of the dimension (which would inherently be set by the predicate)

Hi @dubeyr,

What do you mean by custom parameter in the dashboard? Are you trying to filter on some field? If they do enter a value in the parameter/filter, you want different measures to be displayed in the Tile? Let me know what you think!

Cheers,

Vincent
