Use Custom Dimension as filter on Dashboard

Hi folks,

Basically, I want to know if that’s possible to create a custom dimension or custom measure on a visual, and then use the same custom field as a filter parameter in the dashboard, so my client can filter him/her self the visual in the dashboard.

I have the same question and couldn't find documentation about it. Is it not possible to filter your dashboard with a custom dimension? In my case, I can't modify the view because I'm using data from the Looker system activity

Hi @sergio_pestanaW - I feel you are trying to find the feature of tableau where a user can drag and group a bunch of data points and create a custom group and then use it as filter. Such feature is not available in Looker but in Looker Studio, users can click and drag to select multiple data points and have the other charts in the dashboard filtered based on it. 

You may try to use Looker Studio which is more feature rich in terms of charts, controls and interactivity.
