Per-look formatting

Hi there!

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to achieve per-report formatting. Team A in our company has very specific requirements regarding how null values should appear, which differ from team B. Ideally, I wouldn’t have to define “Dimension A - ‘NA’ as Null” and “Dimension A - “NO VALUE” as null”

Our support team may have some additional answers here, but a few ideas that quickly come to mind:

  1. Instead of modifying the dimension on a per-look basis, you can build a single dimension that will display the properly formatted value based on a user’s team. This is pretty easy to accomplish with User Attributes. In this case, you’d have a “Team” user attribute and set it up similarly to this post on user permissioned fields

  2. On an per-look basis, you can use a table calculation to replace Nulls with “No Value”. if(is_null(${order_items.status}), "No Value", ${order_items.status}). Once you build the table-calculation, you can hide the original dimension from the visualization
