Hi, I have a text tile with some definitions on KPIs and also “Read Me” information on a dashboard. I don’t want to show the whole text of it but only a “Read Me” and then ideally people could click and the text tile would expand and show the whole content. Or it could show a preview and then …Read MoreIs there anyway to do this? To make the text tile scrollable is quite tedious. Thanks!
Can we normalize the y-axis between two line charts so it is easier to compare?Details: Currently, the charts have dynamic y-axes. This means that each chart will end up with a different scale on its y-axis. We want to make them align so that people can visually compare the data using the chart heights.
I’m troubleshooting and issue with my company’s reporting dashboards. This issue is caused by the Looker update (to v21.20) that happened last night. When following the url guidelines described in Looker documentation, we can not get our reports to render as ‘dashboards-legacy’. It appears to be a DNS issue with our CNAME record. The url change, with our domain name, does not effectively render the report as ‘dashboard-legacy’. With our Looker domain name, it works as intended. Has anyone run in to this issue yet? This is a production issue and needs to be addressed quickly. Thanks all.
We’re creating a number of explores, looks, and dashboards based on a reference date parameter. We have logic that uses this ‘reference date’ parameter to drive the data selection for our users.Everything works great. When we add the reference date parameter to the explore & look, the user is restricted to a single date selection (or the user field, which we don’t use), which is what we expect and want. According to Looker documentation, date parameters will only allow a single date selection. However, when I add this same parameter to a dashboard, the date based filters are not available like in a normal date field, only the ‘advanced’ selection, which exposes all of the date based filter options that we’re trying to avoid.I’m able to work around this by creating a LookML dashboard, but that makes editing dashboards very cumbersome and we’re trying to avoid doing that.Is there any way limit a date parameter to a single date on a user defined dashboard?
I am looking for the equivalent to what I know as a level of detail expression in Tableau. Here is a small sample dataset listing a child’s age, favorite sport at a given age, and the given age: NAME - SPORT - AGEAdam - Soccer - 15Adam - Baseball - 14Adam - Hockey - 13Billy - Baseball - 10Billy - Soccer - 9 Based on the data above, Adam’s most recent favorite sport is Soccer and Billy’s is Baseball. How can I filter table results to show only the record containing each child’s most recent favorite sport (based on the maximum value of the AGE field for each NAME field). My goal is to get a table with data similar to the following: NAME - SPORT - AGEAdam - Soccer - 15Billy - Baseball - 10
Hello, I am new to Looker and would appreciate if you could help with the following:I have 2 tiles: One of them is a table with the list of info (rows). Another one is bubble chart related to the first tile. When I click on any bubble in the second tile I want the data from the 1st tile related to this bubble appear in a separate visual. Only 2 measures are used in the 2nd tile, no dimension. Thank you!
Hi,I have a graph that shows some measure by time.Right-clicking on a specific day will allow you to driil down to another dashboard. The second dashboard should be filtered by the day I clicked on.I'm trying to establish the time as a filter in liquid url, but it's not workingWhat is the best practice for that case? Thanks!!!
We are getting the error "Access Denied: Project ProjName: User does not have bigquery.jobs.create permission in project ProjName.", "status" : "PERMISSION_DENIED" }' connecting to Bigquery. Please check your service account user credentials.” for a connection where we have granted the user the BigQuery Data Editor and BigQuery Job User role already. As suggested by a similar post, we have used the Project ID and not the project name in the Looker connection details, but is of no help.Any help will be greatly appreciated.
It takes too much space with the new components and sometimes it’s more than 1/3 of the viewport, especially on laptops. It would be good to make it non-sticky just like it used to be or hide it completely, apart from the Title, and show it again upon scrolling up, like a lot of websites do these days
I am making a report using table-next which lists each store as a row and then each column is the per period sales for the last 3 periods plus the sales the same period last year. There is also a table calculation which generates a delta between the sales in each comparable period. This is what the report should look like:This is what the Data - Results section looks like: The raw data in our database table looks like this:Sale_ID, Store_ID, Sale_Amount, Period_Number, Fiscal_Year_Number. Where each row represents an individual sale. The issue I am running into is that as time progresses and we enter a new time period the report breaks and the order of the columns is no longer correct. When a new period is introduced to the report It becomes something like this: Two things appear to be happening. One; new columns are not appearing to re-order (period 10 should be on the far left but isnt). Two; The “delta” Table Calculations columns are no longer lined up with the associated period c
I am trying to use the Image Carousel Visualization, but the size of my image does not scale with the size of the tile as mentioned in the description of the plugin.Could you suggest how to resize the image, as there are no settings for this visualization and it doesn’t accept image tag in a Liquid HTML parameter.
Hi! While waiting for the functionality of making totally custom tooltips in Looker, I’ve tried to follow this article to display two values in my Packed Bubble visualization. I can get the values the way I want to but for some reason it doesn’t work on the specific visualization. It works when I use other visualizations like bar- and line chart. Does anyone know if it’s possible to customise the tooltip shown in the Bubble - viz? Would be really helpful since I’m already using two measures to create the visual, one for colour and one for size. Thank you,Elin
Hi Everyone!I’m new to Looker, and am trying to build a dashboard. Within the only two tiles on my dashboard, I am filtering transaction ids by prefixes txn_, ch_, and py_ to identify all transactions from one source. I also want a custom filter for the dashboard so that if someone wants to see the detail for a specific transaction, they can narrow down to the specific transaction. It seems like when I add this custom filter to the dashboard, it overrides the filters I have in the tiles and pulls in other transactions. Is there a way to lock the tiles so that they never show other transaction IDs while allowing the dashboard to be filtered further?
A user has raised an issue where they cannot change the date range filter within a schedule for a Look. Clicking on the start date and end date does nothing.I have been able to replicate this issue. I can change the dates by using “matches (advanced)” but confirm that the date picker for neither the start date nor the end date do anything when clicked. While the user in question does have limited permissions, I am an admin and still cannot get this to work so it is not permission-related. All relative date filter types (“is in the past”, “is before”, etc.) work fine but anything absolute (“is on the day”, “is on or after”, etc.) do not allow me to change the date from the date picker.I have tested this in both Safari and Chrome.EDIT: Just to confirm, although this says dashboard schedule in the title, the bug only applies to Look schedules - dashboards use a different schedule modal and there do not appear to be any problems with it.
Hi all, Has anyone had any success with parsing Active Directory data (such as group policy, or domain controller data), Okta events (such as application add/delete), or Azure PIM events in Looker? Or other data/security log events? Can you educate me on your processes? We’re looking at trying to look at some of this data internally, potentially for future audit processes and wonder what others have done. Thanks, in advance.
