Hi, I am using Looker version 4.14. I initially created 5 schedules with different filters on one looker dashbaord. Early this week I deleted those schedules, so there is no schedules available (as I cannot see schedule sign next to the dashbaord name in the space, or show up under schedule under gear icon). But today those 5 schedules got delivered to the users eventhoug they are not there. Is it the issue with scheduleing in Looker? I only seen them in history as those completed but not under the plan or at the dashbaord level.
I have a few merged Explores/Looks that I am hoping to save onto multiple Dashboards but it seems like this is not a feature currently in Looker. Has anyone come across this issue before and have a solution? I’d ideally like to limit the duplicate merged Looks I have to create so I don’t have to update them all one by one. Thanks!
Is anyone else having issues with adding multiple values to a dashboards-next filter? After I select 1 value, my typing overwrites itself as I try to add another value. I have a screen capture here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UsWXIKjVULN4DO_H4fvrRVGR_FJXSOsZ/view?usp=sharing
Hi everyone!I am working on hiding the last pivot column from visualization. I’ve already explored these workarounds found here without any solution:Add calculations to each column you want to show and hide original columns → using pivot_index() or pivot_where() Customize column label adding empty character and white color for text.None of them works for me, because I need to main the reference of the week in the column name, and as it changes dynamically must not be hardcoded (and I also want to avoid named them “actual week, actual week -1,…, actual week - n”)I filtered data for the last 7 weeks to accurately calculate Change % for the last 6 weeks, but because I only have to show the performance of the last 6 weeks, I need to hide the last one (in the image above “2022-04-09”)
I’m grouping a field and using those groups as columns in the Data Table - when I look at the visual it seems to be creating a “Series 6” that I can’t get rid of. I’ve tried grouping remaining values into an Unknown category and I still get that Series. What is going on and how can I get rid of it?
I am building a Custom Vis using the custom_visualizations_v2.I am trying to retrieve a list of current filters applied to my query. The queryResponse Param is where I thought this should be. There was some filtering Meta-Data but it all said null. also there was array of field objects under fields key in queryResponse. it has an is_filter param but it always says false even when I think it should be trueRecap. If I am running my custom vis, and apply a filter in the Explore UI. How can I identify a filter in my custom vis code?
I want to create a query that tracks when my management gets errors running dashboards. I see that errors connecting to database can be seen in history.message and SQL errors can be seen in history.status. But I don’t see any way to see when queries got the error “row limit reached” - this is not seen when dashboards are run by users - is it stored anywhere? This is often (although not always) a sign of a problem in the query that I’d like to address before problems are seen by business users.Thanks!--Bruce
I want to calculate wow % change and compare it to the week last month. I have created table calculations, since we require month week comparison we had to take last 5 week in our data. Hence I get all the weeks in my visualization. Is there a way we can hide other weeks and get the latest completed week only in visualization?
I have a dashboard where it makes sense for some charts to be connected to some filters and another group of charts to be connected to a different set of filters. However, because all of the filters are at the top of the dashboard, it’s not clear to users which filters affect which charts (unless you dig in to the settings each time). Is there any way to make it clear which filters will affect which tiles, and even better, can they be grouped together with the tiles themselves so that it’s visually easier for users to comprehend (like is possible in other tools like Chartio)?
Can we normalize the y-axis between two line charts so it is easier to compare?Details: Currently, the charts have dynamic y-axes. This means that each chart will end up with a different scale on its y-axis. We want to make them align so that people can visually compare the data using the chart heights.
I want to embed a Looker table into my internal company’s Confluence page, which works fine, but if someone clicks a dimension it tries to filter by that dimension and run another query, which goes back to Looker. Is there a way to turn off the dimension links? What about measure links?
I have a dashboard with bunch of single value tiles that are connected to a city filter. Then I have a column bar chart, which I want to be excluded from the filter. Unfortunately every time I go to the bar chart and even change the title, it’s connected again to the filters. Almost as if filters “attach” the on/off toggle to a name of the tile not its ID or something. It gets really annoying that I have to go edit the filters every time I make a change to the tile.
Hi there, I have an aggregate table where four columns are different total counts that are equivalent to the entire count for that row. I want to display the values of those 4 columns in a pie chart. Currently I have them defined as measures of the sum type. That works well for doing stacked area graphs, but for some reason it doesn’t allow for a pie graph. Any ideas on how to make a pie graph from the data? Thank you
I am trying to create a map chart with Map set to Custom, I have a TopoJSON URL located in the team github repository. However, when I put that url in the box, Looker interface shows an error: Error while loading map https://github.com/…/file.mini.json Is it because github links are private? I tried an open source topojson link too but no luck :/ Is there anything extra I need to do?Thanks,
Hello, let’s assume that in a dashboard we have the two following filters: ‘country’ and ‘city.’After I have chosen one or more countries in the ‘country’ filter, I would like the suggested values in the dropdown of the ‘city’ filter to be updated based on the values of the ‘country’ filter. For example, if in the country filter the user selects ‘United Kingdom’, then when they click on the city filter they will only see cities that are located in the UK, and not all cities of the dataset. I hope that makes sense. Is it feasible in Looker?Thank you very much in advance.
I’m not sure the best place to put this, and know this is a long-shot to ask Looker for, since even the customer service orgs haven’t developed it … Does anyone have a good way of handling forecasting support tickets and allocating a schedule for staffing? We’re currently hacking this in Excel and then pushing the output into Redshift. I’m sure, we could also hack it in Looker, so wanted to check to see what others are doing. Thanks!
Hi, I show strange behavior for Calculated fields in Look (calculated fields get dropped from the Look/explore from here if add additional measures on the Look. I had few measures and one calculated field on the Look. I added 2 more measures and moved them at appropriate positions but it dropped calculated field which was there when I opened look using explore from here option. I have to recreate calculated field again for all the look with similar modification. And this getting too much time confusing as have to create all calculations again. Looker version: 4.22
I have a stacked bar chart for each month since December '18. When I initially made this chart back in June, I had set my chart to show the months from Dec '18 to June '19. When the data for July started coming in, I wanted the July '19 bar to automatically pop up on the chart next to June’s bar, but it didn’t so I went in and manually changed the settings allowing for July’s data to show. Is there a way I can now ensure that when August begins and August’s data comes in, a bar will pop up for August '19 on this chart? I don’t want to have to manually go in to all my charts at the beginning of every month and change the settings. Thank you!
