Hi!I was trying to look for the limits in each map type and couldn’t find it in the guideshttps://docs.looker.com/exploring-data/visualizing-query-results/interactive-map-optionsAs I work at Holidu, a vacation rentals metasearch, we have tons of geographical data we would like to use. However, I have faced limitations using zipcodes, lat/long and even custom map layersCould anyone clarify what are the limits in each case? So far I have faced the following: show individual points for lat/long: maximum 5000? we would like to see how our vacation rentals concentrate and if you play around in our website you will see we have far more than 5000 :) show total rentals in Germany by Zipcode: I had to a custom layer as unfortunately Looker only has data for US zipcodes. I used this beautiful TopoJson file available in Git. It worked perfectly on Explore mode, showing all the areas corresponding to the zipcodes, but not in the Look. I have deleted row limit, so it’s not because we have this. We
Hi team, Instead of placing the filters in a dashboard at the top of the dashboard, I want to place a filter which is particular or local to that Look.Is there a way to relocate a filter to a position other than the top ?PLease suggest.Regards,Jagadeesh
Is there a way to increase the padding of combo charts? When the title is hidden, it seems the upper padding shrinks to nearly 0, while the side padding still looks the same. Combo stacked bar/line chart. The red arrows indicate padding from the chart to the edge of the component window.
I’m truly stumped by this one. Here are the facts: I have a Static Map (Region), where I am displaying a measurement by state. I have custom colors for the gradient. The measurement displayed is a dynamic measure created with liquid; you change the value of the “Selected Measure” parameter in order to change the measure displayedWhen I was testing the dashboard and filters, I notice one scenario that doesn’t make sense. The measurement I’ve selected is the exact same amount in all 50 states (which is correct, it should be, due to the filter I have active). I would expect for all 50 states to be the same color, since the values are all identical. However, it’s doing this! I’ve included the results pane to show the values. To try to investigate, I changed the chart type to a table; the visualization on the cell is doing the same thing! These measurements are all the same, why are the colors different?! Does anyone have any idea what I should do or why it’s doing this?Thank you,Jess Kyle
Hi! I am very new to looker and was hoping someone would be able to help me. So I currently am working on a look that has a dimension username and a measure that returns the group that the username is from. I am trying to find a way to create a separate column that extracts just the beginning part of the group name, and not the numbers and letters that follow it. I have been trying to use the table calculation (since I do not have access to LookML) but it keeps returning 0. For reference:How can I get it to just return “Delta Group” from the “delta group-564f6dffa-dc….”*note: all group names are followed by a dash before the letters and numbers ([name]-123abd-456def)
By default the labels are vertically centered. But when I change the Percent Type to the previous rowSuddenly they go to the top:Reason? The label <p> element gets correct CSS: but after changing to previous row The top property and translateY is reduced to 0
If a user saves a Dashboard to their Space (in order to save custom filters), and then we push out a new release that includes an update or change to that particular Dashboard, will it also update within the user’s Space? Or will their Space still show the Dashboard as it was at the time they saved it?
Hey! Sorry if this is a n00b question… I’m just getting started with Dashboards and Reports. Is it possible to generate a series of charts at runtime (multiple charts, not multiple series in one chart)? I can generate the data as two queries (Query A gives me a list of ID’s, Query B is run multiple times with the ID as a filter - one chart for each ID) or as a single query (IDs and series data in one query, but the results would then be separated into a chart per ID)? A use case for this would be: We have 5000 stores. We want a dashboard or report that will show us a chart of the daily sales values for each of the top 20 stores by their most recent monthly total (a chart per store). Each month the set of stores would change, so we couldn’t use fixed criteria in 20 separate looks
Hi All, Hope you are doing well and staying safe. So Basically i got a dashboard that have “Daily Admins Performance” filtered by name so it’s easy to schedule, something basic. what i would like to know is, if we have 12 admins could we somehow cascade the visualizations of them in 1 email. to avoid spamming. P.S: Scheduling them under the same name might be a solution to this but i’m just check if there a more neat way to do it, where they will seems more as if there were 1 dashboard. Best Regards,
Hi there! I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to achieve per-report formatting. Team A in our company has very specific requirements regarding how null values should appear, which differ from team B. Ideally, I wouldn’t have to define “Dimension A - ‘NA’ as Null” and “Dimension A - “NO VALUE” as null” Thanks!!
Hey everyone, I just created a new dashboard that has this first single selection drop down filter. I set the required value option to true, but didn’t put any default value since this dimension is not yet populated in the DB. The required value validation is keeping it disabled, which is good, but now, I can’t even edit this filter to remove the option in development mode (while waiting for the data to be populated) .Is this a bug, or am I missing something?
Hi all! I have a quick question here. Tracking sales of a product, I have the Revenue and the Country Name. Eight countries are grouped separately as per business policy. What I want to show on the visualisation - a bar chart with the total revenue, stacked - with the total revenue from these separately grouped countries, the total revenue of the rest of the countries in the world, so the combined stacked bar would be our total revenue for the period. The countries are specified with a filter within the visualisation Hope I explained it clearly… kind of. Thanks!
When I’m looking at a transposed table-next viz and add a dimension, as expected I get the error that I can’t transpose with multiple dimensions. However, instead of turning off transpose automatically or allowing me to turn it off, I’m stuck undoing my work, turning off transpose, and re-doing my work. I should be able to turn off the toggle, though I wouldn’t be able to turn it back on after if I have multiple dimensions.
Hey Looker community I had set up a schedule last week for recurring daily reports, later I disabled the schedule, but I still get the email daily. Any thoughts on how I can disable this? I tried unsubscribing via the email as well, doesn't work. Thanks in advance,Aaqib
