Show specific dashboard tiles based on user attribute
Hello Does anyone know if it’s possible to only show certain tiles in a dashboard based on user attributes? For example, let’s say there are two graphs in a dashboard. User 1 can view both, but it is possible that User 2 can only see one of them, with the other tile being hidden? Thank you
Scheduling a Look - if results do not change
I like the feature where one can schedule a Look if there are results, and if results changed. Wondering if it’s possible to include a feature where Looker sends out email if there are results and results haven’t changed since last delivery. Context being that if a table (in Google BigQuery) is not being updated regularly, this feature would notify us that data is not being uploaded as it should. Or if anyone has any hacks to get around this, that would be great! Thanks.

Is it possible to insert a created user attribute into a look as dimension column?
Hi, I know you can create user attributes in the admin settings. In this case, I’m doing something simple like creating a department attribute and editing the users so that this attribute reflects what department they are in. I’m attempting to create a usage dashboard and one of the dimensions I’d like to include is the department of the employee who look at a particular dashboard. I’m current using the history explore to create that board, but under the user section, the added attribute does not appear although other attributes like name and email are present. Is there a way to create a dimension based on the new attribute so I could add it in?
How to make a chart show Previous Year of selected range from a Date Range Controller
I currently have two charts on a dashboard that show the last 30 days of the previous year with an advanced date range setting, but I would like to update these two charts to work with the page’s date range controller along with the other charts. For instance if someone updated the date range for this page to be 02/20/23 - 02/27/23 than these two charts would update their date range to be 02/20/22 - 02/27/22 and all other charts on the page will use the selected date range (02/20/23 - 02/27/23). Is this possible? I have seen others asking this question elsewhere but have yet to find a solution.
How do you remove Tile Shadows and Borders?
I have a question regarding the formatting of my Looker dashboard. I've noticed that all my titles have borders and shadows, which makes the dashboard look blocky. Is there a way to remove these shadows and borders to give the dashboard a cleaner appearance? This question has been posted without answer by another user and I cannot find how online. If it’s not currently available, what can be done to submit this as a feature-request?
Hide Looks on Dashboard based on filter
I created a dashboard with several Looks on it and added some filters. One of the charts doesn’t have any values when a specific value of filter is selected, but instead of simply showing that chart empty (which is confusing some users, making them think that was an error on that chart), I want to hide that chart when that value is selected on the filter. Is it possible to do that?
Group based on AND condition
Hello all. First of all, love the new GROUP feature in Looker. Super helpful. I have a question about it though. Per the image below, I’m looking to group URLs into one bucket. Let’s say there are pages of a site that have both “/view” and “sales-quote-creator” in the URL. Since the URL in question has BOTH of these parameters, an OR operator is not satisfactory. If we had the ability to swap the OR with an AND, it appears that this would solve my problem. Is this something that is on the roadmap? Would be super useful.
How to group aggregate values into buckets?
I have a google sheet full of donation transactions like thisname, date, amountAnd I built a simple Looker table showing the aggregate donations for each ‘name’ over some period of time like this:name, total_donationsI’d like to have a third column (bucket) with rules like this:if ( Amount >= 2500, "Gold", if Amount >= 1000, "Silver", if Amount >= 250, "Bronze", if Amount >= 50, "Friend", "N/A" ) ) ))However, the above calculated field is applied per-row of the raw data … how can I apply the same logic to the aggregate SUM of Amount?
Stacked area chart always starts in January
I have a data set with a rolling 12 months of data. Current data set has data from Mar 2022 to Feb 2023. When I try to plot this using the Stacked Area chart the X axis always starts with Jan. So I get Jan 2023, Feb 2023, Mar 2022, April 2022 etc. Obviously this isn’t so useful for visualising trend information. How do I make the chart start at Mar 2022 and run through until Feb 2023? In the dataset I have one data point per month per dimension. Each data point has a date of the last day of the relevant month. The dataset is super simple:Name (dimensioned by name) Value (numeric value) Date (last day of the month - only one entry per month per Name)
Changing a data source in a dashboard to new data source after dwh migration
When making a copy of a looker dashboard it allows you to change the data source from an old source to a new source. I want to do something similar without making a copy. I have some sources in a dashboard that I would like to replace with a migrated version of that source. I dont want to change the original source but replace it so that the original source points to the old dwh. I cant seem to figure out how to replace the source. All sources are located in Bigquery
Can you update looks based on user input through dashboard?
Hi,I have the following use case: I want to create a look which comparing the customer budget against his spending. The problem is, that each customer have different budget, so I want to let the user to input his own budget and according to his input, to change the look. How can I do it?
Drill down data is different from visualization
Hi, I have 2 tiles in my dashboard. Both have filters in them in addition to the dashboard’s filters. One is displaying orders volume by date. The other is displaying deliveries volume by date. Both have drill down functionality specified in lookML their measure fields. However, when I clicked on drill down for the orders volume, the drill down data is incorrect compare to its visualization. For example, 01/01 in visualization is showing 10 orders, but drill down is showing 2. Deliveries tile is created in the same manner, but drill down data is consistent with its visualization. I am unable to find an answer searching through community posts and documentation. Does anyone know what is the issue and how to resolved it?
How to toggle a field being displayed in a Bar Chart visualization
We have a field displayed as a line on a bar chart on a dashboard that depends on a user specifying attributes. If the user doesn’t choose a value, we’d like to hide this field from the visualization. Despite the value being null in the backend, the bar chart is plotting a line for the null values as if it were valued at 0. Is it possible to dynamically toggle whether a field like this is displayed in the visualization depending either on the values of the data or on something like a dashboard filter?
Lookerstudio barchart filtered by columns
Hi everybody, I am facing some issues trying to create a barchart on Lookerstudio. I have a GSheets dataset where every row is a project and I have columns such as average monthly income, success probability (probability to win the project), and monthly income from that project (July 1st, 2023, August 1st, 2023, etc.) The final outcome I would like to achieve is a bar chart showing expected revenue by time (e.g. in the next 4 months, next year, etc.). I imagine x-axis to be time (July 1st, 2023, August 1st, 2023, etc.) and y-axis to be expected income. I would then have a date range control to change the time interval to my liking and a drop-down list control with success probability. I tried two approaches: I used the dataset with project=row, but that doesn’t allow me to filter by time, since my unit of observation is project. I transposed the dataset so that unit of observation is time (July 1st, 2023, August 1st, 2023, etc.) instead. Now my rows are time, and my columns are project
