Dashboard filters warning

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what does this means?

This filter was created using a filter by field outside of the explores on this dashboard. You can modify the settings and tiles to update, but will need to create a new filter to change the field

It will show when I try add a filter to a dashboard.

This is likely a dashboard upgraded from legacy to new? Legacy dashboards allow much more flexibility in defining filters, which new dashboards forgo to make things easier for more users.

New dashboards require that all new filters be derived from the explores for the dashboard’s existing tiles. The old filter will still work, but you can’t change it.
