Custom Drilling in New Dashboard

I have some LookML with custom links that are of the format ‘/explore/<model_name>/<explore_name>’ and have fields, sorts, vis, etc. parameters on the URL, which produce a column chart. This works as expected in any explore from here, Look, or legacy dashboard, however, when clicking the link in a new dashboard (dashboards-next), the data is always shown in a table, as if the vis parameter is ignored. I also tried using drill_fields and the {{ link }} variable, which gave the same result.

I’m following a similar pattern to the article More Powerful Data Drilling, which seems to say that this behaviour should be supported.
