Looker set-up and management
Hello Everyone, I am using the official Looker Mobile App on my iPhone. Each time I connect to the application, I have to fill in the instance name, specify my id and password. It's quite annoying. I don't understand why it does this on the mobile version when SSO works fine on the desktop version. I have also tried the QR code solution, but I was disconnected after a while. How do I enable SSO on the looker mobile application? Do I have to activate anything in the admin panel?I would really like not to have to re-specify my info every time I log in. I want to have the same experience as on my pc Thank you for your help,Cheers !
Hello! I’m looking to schedule reporting to external users via email (PDF format). I would like the report to be customized based on the external email address (e.g. Email address tied to a customer ID), pulling in only data for that customer. It appears to be doable user attributes but is it doable in this case where external users are not ‘users’ within our Looker instance?
Every error is the same (Athena) Error message not found: ATHENA_CLIENT_ERROR. Can't find bundle for base name com.simba.athena.athena.core.messages, locale en_US
Hello there,Been using Looker connected to Athena for ~3 years now. But in the last 2-3 weeks a strange error message has begun showing up for every single error encountered. If a query is robust it resolves without issue. But when there is an error, no matter what the problem, that message comes up.It also doesn’t seem to matter what region I use. We have Looker deployed in EU, US, and AP regions, the locale en_US note still appears. When I use the Athena Query Editor in AWS and my query errors out, it gives me the “correct” error message, so there’s something gone wrong with the way Looker is talking to Athena. This has been tested on multiple Athena connections with multiple Looker users in multiple browsers, and it still shows the same.Any guidance at all would be great. It’s a real pain to have to go out of Looker to resolve the query issue, only to return to Looker to continue working.Cheers,
We want to make a specific dashboard only viewable to my team. What I did is to create a sub folder in the shared folder and try to include my team to view the folder( via manage content icon) The error is that I cannot remove the user who can manage / edit the parent folder ( the shared folder). Is there any way to solve this issue?
Looker Download Page Shows Only One .jar File (no dependencies .jar file) and "Trial" License Agreement, not EULA
Hi there, Issue: I entered our organizations Looker key & email at https://download.looker.com/validate, but the download option is just for a single looker-latest.jar and does not include the dependencies .jar that the docs talk about.Attempting to start up the service with `systemctl start looker` shows `Startup failed. Unable to load java dependencies.`. All the docs call out the looker-dependencies.jar file, so I believe I’m getting this error from not having the dependencies jar. Also, the download page prompted me to agree the Looker Trial Agreement v1.0. However, reading the docs, I thought I would have to agree to Looker’s EULA, not a Trial agreement. Question: can you tell me why, when I enter our org’s key & email, we only get 1 download link for looker-latest.jar, and not 2 download links for looker & the dependencies? Also, why were we prompted with the Trail agreement and not the EULA? Is something wrong with our license? Thank you in advance for your help.
Looker Actions - Google Cloud Storage Looker is launching a Google Cloud Storage action, allowing customers to send data to Google Cloud Storage from within Looker. This action will allow Looker customers ti send Looker data to Google Cloud Storage on a one-off or scheduled basis. Enable the Google Cloud Storage Action Note: Your Looker instance must be on Looker 5.6+. Customer-hosted instances may be unable to enable actions from the Looker Action Hub, especially actions that support streamed results or that use OAuth, if the customer-hosted Looker instance does not fulfill these requirements. See the Sharing Data Through an Action Hub documentation page for suggested solutions to this potential issue. To enable the action in Looker, go to your Admin panel and the Actions Tab under the Platform header [your-instance.looker.com/admin/actions]. (Admin > Platform > Actions) Select “Enable” on the Action you would like to enable. In your Google Cloud console [https://consol
We’ve been trying a number of templates recently to quickly setup some data. We’re now in a position where we have a number of reports that we are not the owners of showing in our account. When I hit the … menu the remove button is greyed out. How do I get rid of these from my account.
Lost Ark is a familiar name to most MMORPG fans as the game has been out since 2019. It’s just making its way to the Western gaming scene, however. Fans of the game from the region will be able to try out the game with low ping for the first time while the game will also look forward to attracting more players in the meantime. So you want to know about the Lost Ark Power Pass? Alt characters are an understated facet of MMO games. In Lost Ark’s case it’s almost expected that you have many alts to feed resources into a few core characters, especially if you’re trying to farm currency like Lost Ark gold and silver. What is the Lost Ark Powerpass? In short, the Powerpass is a boost that allows players to automatically level a character to 50. This allows you to level another class relatively quickly, instead of grinding through all of the main story. While the in-game description is pretty bare-bones, a breakdown of the item on the title’s official Steam notes that the feature “is to aid fast

How can I see a log of the queries triggered by autorefresh similar to what we see in the system activity admin dashboards?
I’m trying to monitor how many queries does each dashboard trigger.I was using the system__activity dashboards that are available to admins but I realized that it doesn’t include the queries that are triggered via auto-refresh: as far as I can tell it only includes the queries triggered by users. Is there any way to access those logs? Thanks!
What to do if I am getting "Error parsing the request, invalid_sp_id..." error in SAML authentication.
The full error will look this this:“Error parsing the request, invalid_sp_id: The <Issuer> element MUST be present in <AuthnRequest> element.” First step is to check if you have used the Setup guide below on the Google side in addition to the Looker Docs:Looker Cloud Application - Set up SSO via SAML for LookerWe usually get this error message when the SP entity ID is empty and requires a value. You will find more references to the same here:What means the “SP Entity/IdP Audience” parameter in saml configuration for service provider?400 saml_invalid_sp_idI have seen the issue getting fixed once we pass the parameter as described in the document shared above.Hope this helps!
Hi Everyone! I am hoping for some guidance on my Looker instances slowness as well as some best practices from fellow Ops folks who support Looker. Our looker instance is, and has been for some time, crazy slow. By slow I mean the UI is slow to render and even simple API calls take several seconds on occasion. I have verified that the architecture (VM hosted in Azure and RDS instance in AWS) appear to be underutilized and have very little latency. We have what I believe to be an unusually high amount of objects in Looker. I was hoping you could let me know if this is normal:3,196 Dashboards 7,923 Looks 2,227 Scheduled Plans 241 Explores 14,464 Users (of which 11,009 are external standard users)Are these numbers far higher than recommended? Or is this normal? Thanks in Advance
In the Looker documentation theres a popup that seems asking use to fill in Username and Password..https://cloud.google.com/looker/docs/db-config-snowflake#signing_in_to_snowflake_to_run_queriesBut im bit confused what password is that ? And Screenshot shows it as gray so probably password is not editable field on that popup ? Because asking user to fill in any type of password would defeat the need of oauth right..I think how things work is:Snowflake creates integration with looker (sharing client id and secret snowflake provides and use them to finish the trust config on look admin side) im ok with this. Then I think either snowflake user created without password:CREATE USER <username>IDENTIFIED BY OAUTHOr snowflake creates snowflake user automatically based on request ? But then im wondering on that screenshot popup we see in Looker docs, we see:User name: ERINDOCS Password: ****** Is Username field auto populated and/or editable field looker user needs to input ?Same for pass
Players of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 uploaded an amusing video documenting their mishaps with the Precision Airstrike killstreak project. They ordered an airstrike on a moving train during a Call of Duty: Warzone 2 play, which had unexpected repercussions. A sufficient number of Call of Duty Points can be prepared by players. The second season of the successful battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone is now available, and it is jam-packed with brand-new content. However, precise airstrikes have been present for a while and have even helped Warzone players win games. In Warzone 2, airstrikes are a buyable or lootable commodity, so players can occasionally locate them to get out of trouble when they need to. In regular Call of Duty multiplayer, players can win airstrikes through killstreaks. Tricksalot, a Call of Duty: Warzone 2 gamer, published a video demonstrating the possibility of precise airstrikes going awry. Tricksalot lands on a speeding train at the start of the clip, then jumps
Hi Looker folks, We are experiencing links from LookML parameters and from other “help” icons within Looker to be “broken” in the sense that they are all directing to the same, single webpage (https://cloud.google.com/looker/docs) and not to their associated detail page. When I copy the current link underlying the parameter ‘view’ in the Quick Help section the url is this: https://docs.looker.com/r/lookml/types/model/view?version=22.16&lookml=new. It is unfortunately diverting to this: https://cloud.google.com/looker/docsI’ve experienced this for a number of months now and hoping for it to be resolved. End users are especially hoping for the return of a working link from “Advanced Filter Help” to the correct page. Whats the deal? A fix would be much appreciated, Lewis
